Here is my lion from start to finish.... I was very happy with the final outcome of this sculpt, simply because it was the last animal I made, i feel my skill level improved immensely by the end of the project

This was my personal project work, ive been working on these ceramic models for the past few weeks along side my major project and I finally finished them yesterday :)

Ive used recycled paper for all the animals but used paper then painted this one, im not sure how i feel the style differs, i need to see all the animals together on the set to decide :)

Here is a finished seal. its made from a wire armature, layered in sculpted plastercine then covered in recycled news paper scraps that i carefully chose. its then painted with PVA to give it a wet look effect.

Bear!!!

Heres a brown bear, one of the first layers to his coat :) all made from brown paper bags.

For this I took a photo of a table with all my tools and materials I use daily and then drew it in continuos line... 

I then Coloured it in with water colours...

I then took a picture from above me of my hands at work, Then on a separate piece of paper I did the same with continuos line and water colours, adding detail of real nailvarnish to the nails :)

I then sculpted the mini me from hardening clay and painted her in acrylic paint.

after 7.000 layers of paint Im finally happy with the finish, to get the 3 dimensional version of my set the same as the 2 dimensional version i used thick black thread to outline each box on the hill.

COLLABORATION...

so I have a piece of collaboration to do... which involves making a Graham doll... for my lecturers birthday lots of people drew a picture of Graham to be published in a illustrated book, one of the other lecturers Matt designs a doll that comes with other fixtures and features that Graham would like to be made into a three dimensional character... this is a good job for me :)

Dissertation!

i know i havn't posted anything for ages... an age actually. there is no excise for this, I've been a really bad student but today i got my grade back for business and i did really bad so Im going to pull my finger out i promise :( also i handed in my dissertation yesterday and i feel good about it and it wont be eating up any more of my time..... to catch up il post a chunky amount of the work I've done recently today :) <3

hoookay.. so its wednesday.

ive had 4 tutorials this week, all of which were soo helpful. however everything is easier said than done and this morning i still hadnt started my build. nothing, not a sausage... i needed to get the ball rolling.... so i made this out of card :)

soooo I had another deadline today which was for business, went ok i feel... here is my lovely lickle business card i made :)

I feel as though I could of done alot more work for this project, I think the fact that the deadline was right after christmas didnt help. It was a massive shock when I moved back to cardiff from home and realised I had a week left untill submittal. admittedly I did more work in that week than I did in the past month. I think I can learn from that. However I did the best I could and I was happy with the designs and glad ive come up with my final idea and feel happy about it.
